OUR PROJECTS, ORGANIZATIONS AND ACTIONS

The learning activity between 15-19 November 2022 of the project "Young Urban Creative Inclusive Tours", which is carried out by the German Federation of the Blind and in which Italy, Belgium and our association are partners, was hosted by our association and held in Izmir in cooperation with the Tourism for All Association.

Seminars about accessing knowledge and education opportunities were organized in Sivas & Denizli. Photos Workshops were set up for disabled teachers' problems in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir. Details and photos (Turkish) Braille in Everywhere Campaign was started with events arranged at Samsun 19 Mayıs university and Ibrahim Tanrıöver Social Sciences High school in 12-13 December 2017.

We took legal actions against the Ministry of National Education and Assessment, Selection, and Placement Center because visually impaired students were not accepted to Foreign Language Exam.

Electronic Foreign Language Exam arranged by Assessment, Selection, and Placement Center became accessible for visually impaired people. Contributed to develop accessibility of Ministry of National Education website and e-school systems. Works on accessibility continue for the web site "www.eba.gov.tr" which belongs to Ministry of National Education. Halk Bank mobile application became accessible for visually impaired. TRT website's home page was facilitated for an accessible experience.

Braille in Everywhere Project

With purposes of spreading Braille alphabet that blind individuals use and creating awareness about it, Braille in Everywhere campaign was started in 13 December 2017. A website was built: www.brailletr.org

Accessible Note

This project was developed to make visually impaired who study music in universities and blind musicians access the notes in digital media. The web site "www.engelsiznota.org" was built for this purpose.

The project is supported by Sabancı Foundation's Grant Programme and in partnership of METU Disability Support Office that lasted for three years from 2014-2015 term to 2016-2017 term. We came together with students who have different disabilities and study at various universities around Turkey. These students had training about rights based approach, the ways of following up and advocacy. Then, they developed solution suggestions in working groups by collecting data related to problems they face.
